Interested investigators will provide these materials to APOS for review by the Board of Directors:
One page summary of the purpose and aims of the project, including a statement of the relevance of the project to APOS and/or its mission.
Copy of all research instruments/measures.
Copy of the approval letter for the study from the relevant IRB.
Research materials for projects approved by the APOS Board will be distributed by APOS. Members’ names and contact information will not be provided directly to researchers. Members may decide whether to release their names and/ or contact information to investigators. APOS Policy for Postings to the Website and Email Updates
The APOS website is managed by APOS Headquarters with the main goal of providing members and potential members with information about the organization, its activities and educational programs. Information that is related to psychosocial oncology and relevant to APOS members also may be posted on the website with the following stipulations:
Information about scientific, educational or advocacy meetings; grant opportunities; and calls for papers in scientific publications of nonprofit organizations related to psychosocial oncology may be posted on the website and included in one member email at no charge.
Other nonprofit organizations that are relevant to psychosocial oncology may be listed on the Resource webpages with links to their website provided at no charge.
Advertisements of job opportunities may be posted on the website for a fee. Job postings may remain on the website for up to 90 days. A notification of the posting may be sent via email to members and colleagues listed in the APOS database.
For-profit and non-profit professional organizations relevant to psychosocial oncology may purchase advertising space for their organization on the website. These website postings may remain on the website for up to one year.
Website display ads shall comprise no more than 20% of the screen space and be displayed at the bottom of the webpage. Display ads shall be limited to the following webpages on the website: public homepage, members-only homepage, Calendar page, Clinical Update page and Resource (professional and patient) pages.
Advertisements for products produced by for-profit and non-profit organizations other than APOS, including educational materials, may be posted on the website for a fee. These advertisements may remain on the website for up to one year and shall be limited to the restrictions outlined in Item 3.
Corporate or foundation support of APOS entitles the grantor to a posting of its name and logo, with a link to its website, on the appropriate page(s) of the website.
Website advertising requests that do not fall under one of the outlined categories shall be reviewed by the Website Subcommittee of the Board of Directors to determine eligibility for posting.
Emails sent from APOS Headquarters have the purpose of rapidly conveying information to members and colleagues. These communications may contain information about the organization, its activities and its educational programs, as well as other information relevant to APOS members and colleagues. Announcements from non-profit organizations about meetings of other societies, grant opportunities and calls for papers in scientific publications that are not sponsored by APOS may be included in one member email at no charge. Email advertising and other requests shall be limited by the following stipulations:
For-profit and non-profit organizations may purchase advertising space for job opportunities, professional organizations, and products that are not produced by APOS (including educational materials) relevant to psychosocial oncology in emails to the APOS database (approximately 4,000 email addresses) or to members only as part of the APOS member newsletter. Such advertisements may not be repeated in two successive emails.
APOS Headquarters shall accept no more than two advertisements per email, comprising no more than 20% of the email space. Emails shall not be sent more frequently than twice a month.
For the APOS newsletter, advertisers shall have a choice of display and classified email ads. Classified ads shall be limited to 300 characters (included spaces) and display ads shall be 1/6 of the page.
Any request to distribute a survey that may be considered commercial, such as a marketing study, shall be denied.
Policy on Endorsement
APOS may lend its name and/or logo in support of organizations whose missions are aligned with that of APOS. APOS may be asked to endorse printed materials, videos, conferences and/or other educational programs, among others. Endorsement may be conferred upon thorough review; endorsement implies that APOS agrees with the information presented. All uses of the APOS name and logo shall be reviewed and approved by APOS. The APOS logo shall appear in its official color or in black.
Initiatives shall meet the following criteria to be considered for APOS endorsement:
The initiative shall have clear benefit to APOS and/or its members.
There shall be adequate time for APOS members and/or an appointed individual expert to review the material and make any necessary changes.

Please allow three weeks for APOS to process the request. The request must provide sufficient information to allow the APOS Board of Directors to make an informed decision:
Requesting organization/individual contact information
Title and general description of the initiative (e.g. printed material, video, conference, educational program, other)
Narrative description of the initiative, including specific project goals and relevance to the APOS mission and vision
The nature of endorsement requested (e.g. use of APOS name, use of name and logo, other)
